When you join ESMT, you will become a member of an elite group of, Chiropractors, EMTs, Paramedics, MDs, physical therapists and orthopedists who specialize in providing on-site assessment and treatment of injuries, as well as pre-event and post-event care at extreme sporting events.  Currently the Extreme Sports Medicine Team is associated with numerous rodeo associations and has several more wishing to use our services.  Extreme sporting events are at an all time high with Bullriding leading the way opening an ever-growing need for the services provided by ESMT.

ESMT began and is headquartered in Nebraska and has expanded throughout the Midwest region.  With the increasing demand for our services we are being given the opportunity to branch out to every corner of our great country.

What services does ESMT provide at events?

Pre-event Care - Before the athletes compete we help them prepare by giving spinal or extremity adjustments. We help assure good joint care by helping with and teaching good taping and wrapping procedures.   We advise and assist the athletes in the best ways to prepare themselves for their competition.

Injuries - Each chiropractor is teamed with another trained member, to provide the very best treatment of sports related injuries on site.  Because all members have EMT-B or higher training they are well qualified to make on site assessments of injuries and either stabilize and transport or treat.

Post-event Care - In the event an athlete requires follow-up care in the office setting, the Chiropractor will make arrangements for them to be seen in their office or if needed, refers them to another physician in the ESMT group. Working with ESMT you will find you will be treating and assessing many of the same athletes.  This will give you a greater knowledge of the participants past history, which will  also give you better insight for further assessments, and treatments . We have found that these participants not only become patience themselves but they recommend our doctors to their friends and families.

What sets ESMT apart from other sports medicine teams?

All Chiropractic members are required to receive EMT-B training.  ESMT is not limited to Chiropractors but includes MD’s, orthopedist, EMT’s physical therapists and paramedics all trained in emergency medical treatment and capable to continue with a patient into the recovery stage.

Does it cost to be a member of ESMT?

At this time there is no fee.

ESMT PPO Program

ESMT is currently working with a major insurance carrier to create our own PPO. Initially this PPO will be offered to rodeo participants and their families with plans to expand it into other extreme sports in the future.
